The guys over at Abaq.us have set up a tracklog collection site which they describe as a “GeoDiary”. They teamed up with the guys at Skylab Mobilesystems Ltd. who customized their MobileTracker (GPX,KML,KMZ tracklog application) for BlackBerry application to work better with the Abaq.us service. We found this in one of Skylab’s news items.

So it is possible to record a tracklog with your BlackBerry and then upload it to your GeoDiary at www.abaq.us and share it over there. The Abaq.us service looks pretty slim and very easy to use.

Vip operator, a member of mobilkom austria group and Research In Motion (RIM) announced availability of the BlackBerry® solution in Macedonia. The BlackBerry solution brings together smartphones, software and services to allow easy access to email, phone, calendar, web, multimedia and other applications on the go.

This is the first product launch from Vip following the announcement of their strategic partnership with Vodafone in Macedonia. At launch, Vip will offer BlackBerry® Enterprise Server and BlackBerry® Internet Service with a choice of the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8310 and the BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100 smartphones.

Skylab Mobilesystems (the maker of Spot, MobileTracker and more GPS and mapping applications) just became a BlackBerry Alliance Member.

They are going to offer more location-based applications utilizing maps and GPS on the BlackBerry in future. We are sure we can find them soon in the BlackBerry Solutions Catalog.
